My name is Gaetano Abbondanza, and I was born in 1974. I live here in the United States; my parents emigrated from Italy. For as long as I can remember, I've had an attraction to fantasy. As a child, you would find me with my nose in books about fables, folklore, myth, legend; Howard Pyle's "King Arthur" series, C.S. Lewis "Chronicles of Narnia", and Lloyd Alexander's "Prydain" series were a few of my many favorites. I first discovered the Fighting Fantasy phenomenon at the age of 11 and was immediately hooked. I collected gamebooks from many series, such as 'Lone Wolf', 'Choose Your Own Adventure' and 'Wizards, Warriors, & You', to name a few. Like many others, I stopped thinking about gamebooks as I got older, only to rediscover my interest in them thanks to the Fighting Fantasy website and other gamebook sites that have sprung up on the Internet in recent years.
